Importance of electricity

Electricity is contribution of science to the modern civilization. Every thing is revived and conducted by electricity. Mans life is more comfortable by dint of electricity.

The important of electricity can not be ignored in our practical life.

We live in an age of science. It has left no sector unblessed. Apart from radio it has contributed everywhere. We can not but admit its blessing under the sun.

Its history: The greatest scientific achievement of the nineteenth century is the invention of electricity. Electricity is making use of the twentieth century so extensively that it has almost changed the face of the earth. Light and power is the carrier of electricity, devourer of time and space, bearer of human speech over land and sea, is the greatest servant of man, though it itself is unknown. Lenin saw Russia’s Hydro-electrical potentialities. The application of electricity to industry and agriculture was Lenin’s dream. In Bangladesh we have staked our whole future on a rapid growth of our hydro-electric project at Kaptai. The modern age is the age of machinery. The true objective of substituting human labour by mechanical labour is to find greater leisure for man. Machines must be driven by natural power.

Importance: We can not deny its contribution or blessings in a modern city. Electricity regulates the clock that rouses us from bed; boils the water that makes our tea; cooks our food on heat-proof cooking ranges or cookers; works the radio and TV that tell us the news rings the bell that announces a visitor, conveys us to our offices in luxurious vehicles and trains; carries our telegraphic message to distant places; takes us to our room some where in some multi-strayed building on elevators; refrigerates the food to keep it completely fresh; enlightens our rooms when the sun goes down; warms it in winter and cools it in summer; in short, does everything for our comfort and convenience with the utmost efficiency at all hours.

The use of electricity: Electricity has become a very good use to our day to day life. We can not enjoy even a second without electricity. Mills, factories and big industries are run by
electricity. Heavy loads are carried away or set with the help of electricity. Had there been no invention of electricity, industrial development would not have been made possible.

Caution: Electricity causes accident. An unguarded and uncared moment causes a serious accident. Men and animals are seen being electrified. Electricity is a blessing of science. Present world remains stagnant without it. People should be cautions about it.

The development of the country can be brought by generating electricity on a large scale. The carious multipurpose schemes which we are running at such a heavy cost over the years are for the production of large-scale electricity. But most of our electricity was based on coal; the total out put was lamentable low.
